MMI offers a top level CCW training course consisting of the 16 hrs required by the IL Firearm Conceal Carry Act (FCCA). The class is taught by a certified instructor with over 15 years of firearms experience including service in United States Marine Corps service as a Marksmanship Instructor, and is a NRA Certified Pistol Instructor & Range Safety Officer. The course is taught from our certified curriculum which uses a combination of presentations, and of course practical application, dry fire and live fire drills! Class sizes are restricted to low numbers to keep instruction as one on one as possible. We offer classes in downtown Minooka, IL and utilize local farm fields for our range time.
Our course is broken into four 4 hour blocks. Covering the following material:
I - Basic firearms Safety, Gun Identification, Ammo Identification & Selection, Cleaning EqptEquipment, Safety & Cleaning Protocols, Loading and Unloading, and Home Storage
II – Vehicle Storage, Public Storage, and Basic Marksmanship Fundamentals (Grip, Stance, Sight Alignment, Sight Picture & Trigger Control)
III – The FCCA in its entirety, The FOID Act, and Relevant Portions of the ILCS per assigned by the ISP
IV – Lets’ get some range time!! Live fire consists of just over 100 rounds.
If you claim any prior training that allows you to have credit towards the required 16 hours, it will be credited in the following manor:
- 4 hour of credit will allow you to miss section I of training
- 8 hour credit will allow you to miss both sections I & II
*Should you choose to attend these training blocks anyway, we allow you to do so at no additional charge! We only ask that you make prior arrangements so that we are expecting you.
** Anyone planning to use Veteran status towards credit hours that does not show in some way, shape or form some proof of Pistol training on their service record would still be required to attend all four sections of training at no additional charge.
Our live fire exercises not only include the required 30rounds of qualification, but one practice round prior to qualification and additional live fire practice drills – Totaling just over 100 rounds.
